Activities, Parks & Recreation

There are many beautiful, outdoor recreational activities in Sammamish. One of the city's focal points is Lake Sammamish, a large, freshwater lake on the westside of the city. Visitors can boat, swim and kayak on the lake. Lake Sammamish State Park also sits at the southern end of the 7-mile lake. In addition to water activities, the state park also has hiking trails, a playground and baseball and softball fields.

Pine Lake Park is another popular outdoor, lakefront park. Visitors to the park (and the much smaller Pine Lake) enjoy the park's dock, playground, covered seating area and basketball courts. 

Finally, the Sammamish Commons is a 25-acre park and community center with basketball courts, a skatepark, a Library and the Sammamish Community and Aquatic Center.

Getting Around

The 520 floating bridge is a great option for those commuting from Sammamish to Seattle. The bridge is just 15 minutes from downtown Sammamish.

For those considering public transport, a combination of the Metro Route 269 to Redmond and Sound Transit Route 542 will take passengers to the University of Washington. Those commuting to downtown Seattle can take Route 269 and then transfer to Sound Transit Route 545 to be dropped off in the heart of downtown Seattle.
