Despite being a city of fewer than five square miles, Newcastle offers a variety of sizes and styles of homes. Lake Boren is located in the center of the city and is surrounded by Lake Boren Park. Though there is no lifeguard on duty, visitors are welcome to swim in the lake, which has a swimming dock on its eastern side.
For residents of Newcastle, I-405 provides quick access to downtown Bellevue. Commutes to downtown Seattle require taking I-405 north, heading west on I-90 and then heading north through Seattle on I-5. Bus route 240 also runs north to south, between Bellevue, Newcastle and Renton.
